The hollow winter flower market redeems itself by January with a peak offering of invigorating citrus fruit from Florida: clementines, kumquats, tangerines and limes. Their supporting cast is pretty damn good too: poppies, ranunculus, nerine lilies, amaryllis, anemones, hyacinth, tulips, sweet peas-- the perfect ensemble to lift any residual holiday heaviness.
In this all-levels class we'll talk technique with an emphasis on mindfully constructing a floral composition. Through demonstration, candid discussion and the final creation of their own masterpiece, students will gain a greater understanding of the relationship between color, texture and form; how best to honor each stem's unique constitution. We encourage students to come to class with questions-- we like to "go there".
All materials including clippers, flowers and a vessel will be provided. A light snack and refreshment will be served to help sustain our creativity!
