TEA LANE FARM, MARTHA'S VINEYARD

Join us Saturday, July 27, 2019 to celebrate the height of the summer season with a daylong floral arranging and painting course co-taught by Nicolette Camille and painter Helen Dealtry. Class will take place on Martha’s Vineyard at Tea Lane Farm, a 250-year-old agricultural legacy passed on to flower farmer Krishana Collins in 2011.

Using the property’s stone barn as our bucolic workspace, Helen will lead students through a morning painting session where guests will learn to render an array of local flowers using watercolors and inks. Helen will elaborate on her painting techniques and approach to textile design in a way that can be enjoyed by both beginners or those accustomed to painting.  Lunch from the Island's bountiful natural pantry, will be served among the flower fields.  In the afternoon, students will build upon their gained floral sensitivities and compose their own arrangement, guided by Nicolette, who will showcase the best blooms of the season by working with an abundance of product grown directly at Tea Lane farm: Dahlias, Zinnias, Foglove, Cosmos, Queen Anne's Lace, Scabiosa, Honeysuckle, Hydrangea, Sweet Peas, Asclepias, Lisianthks, Double Lilies, Rudbeckia, Veronica -- truly an overwhelming amount of annuals and perennials, the list goes on!  Tea Lane's open-air studio inspires creativity with views from its hilltop perch of the surrounding croplands, green pastures, and grazing sheep.
