ODE to DAHLIA

THE DAHLIA anchors itself as the premier floral ambassador to the summer-fall transition, becoming locally available in July and ascending to peak selection in September. The uniform display of its infinite petals can be found in a dizzying palette of gradient peaches, blushing creams and lively jewel tones--- we celebrate the singularity in each variety's shape. Please join as we pay homage to this belle of the fall... an extensive selection of dahlias will be locally sourced for this class, expect to see: dinner plate, waterlily, pompon, cactus and anemone varieties.

Nicolette and Sarah will talk technique with an emphasis on mindfully constructing a floral composition in this all-levels workshop. Through demonstration, candid discussion and creation of their own masterpiece students will gain a greater understanding of the relationships between color, texture and form; how best to honor each stem's unique constitution.

Class will be held at SKY GALLERY in the Gowanus neighborhood of Brooklyn. All materials including clippers, flowers and a vase will be provided. Light snacks and refreshments will be served through-out the class to sustain our creativity.

This class is open to students of all levels. Full payment is required to reserve your spot. This class is non-refundableMinimum of 15 students required.
